Job Description
The client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst, Level 3 to support a digital product delivery team working in a hybrid Agile environment. The consultant will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, developers, delivery vendors, business stakeholders, and technical teams to define, design, test, and continuously improve accessible digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder consultations, business analysis, and product planning activities for complex digital solutions.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, product strategies, user stories, epics, themes, product backlogs, sprint plans, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.
- Assess user needs, pain points, goals, behaviours, and opportunities through user research, interviews, analytics, usability testing, and evidence-based design.
- Support the design of user flows, journey maps, personas, wireframes, prototypes, mock-ups, page templates, navigation structures, information architecture, and content strategies.
- Ensure digital solutions comply with WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A and AA, accessibility standards, responsive design principles, and Ontario Digital Service Standards.
- Lead product prioritization and backlog management while working with Agile teams consisting of product owners, UX designers, developers, and testers.
- Translate business goals and user needs into clear digital product features, requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable success indicators.
- Facilitate workshops and design sessions with stakeholders, SMEs, vendors, and delivery teams.
- Support product owners with prioritizing features, evaluating change requests, and determining release readiness.
- Define product KPIs, success criteria, performance measures, and metrics dashboards.
- Provide guidance on usability, accessibility, interaction design, information architecture, navigation, and content design.
- Conduct research into emerging trends and recommend improvements to digital products and user experiences.
- Prepare executive summaries, project status reports, presentations, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support development and testing activities, including test strategies, test plans, test cases, defect logs, integration testing, and UAT.
- Identify and resolve project risks, issues, dependencies, and usability limitations.
- Maintain project documentation and artefacts within shared collaboration environments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting complex digital products and online user experiences.
- Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum and hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments.
- Experience working with product owners, UX designers, developers, and testers.
- Strong knowledge of user-centred design, design thinking, usability, interaction design, information architecture, and UX methodologies.
- Experience creating user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, user flows, mock-ups, and functional specifications.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A and AA, accessibility, mobile-first design, and responsive web design.
- Knowledge of Ontario Digital Service Standards.
- Experience with Balsamiq, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MIRO, Trello, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Google Drive, Slack, and Zoom.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
- Experience preparing product strategies, roadmaps, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional/non-functional requirements, test plans, and UAT documentation.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, presentation, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Scrum Master experience.
- Ontario public-sector or digital-government experience.
- Digital-product metrics, analytics, and continuous product improvement experience.
