Purpose

Our goal is to recruit and support staff and students with a wide range of backgrounds, ideas, and viewpoints. Must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. The Texas Student Experience HR Department seeks a Human Resource Assistant II. This position will support many student lifecycle activities. This position is expected to continue until May 31, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all aspects of hourly student employee onboarding for the Texas Student Experience, including overseeing new hire paperwork, background checks, employment eligibility, and coordination with supervisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of timesheets within established requirements and deadlines.
  • Act as a student worker subject matter expert, provide high-level expertise to others throughout the portfolio, monitor Workday tasks, and process student appointments.
  • Provide guidance to students and supervisors on student employment policies, regulations, and procedures. Act as liaison with other UT Austin offices and colleges as needed.
  • Provide support to HR Assistant Director. Assist with special projects and process Workday reports and audits as requested. full-time

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma (High School) or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in a human resources function.
  • Experience working with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and friendly demeanor and ability to use discretion.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workloads, and effectively handle competing demands.
  • Ability to work well with other departments and employees.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience within higher education or a large organization environment.
  • Experience using Workday in an HR capacity.

Salary Range

$40,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation with prolonged screen time.
  • Use of manual dexterity.
  • This is an Austin, TX-based position.

Employment Eligibility
