Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will primarily support flu vaccination efforts, providing clinical assistance within the scope of medical assisting. This role involves patient preparation, vaccine administration support, and occasional floating to other departments as needed. The position requires strong certification credentials, adherence to scheduling policies, and flexibility for seasonal hours and occasional off-site travel.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with flu vaccination clinics, including patient preparation and vaccine administration support.
• Perform clinical tasks within the scope of Medical Assistant certification.
• Float to other departments or clinics within the facility as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with charting using Cerner.
• Support daily clinic operations and ensure compliance with safety and procedural protocols.
• Travel to off-site satellite clinics as needed for vaccination efforts.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Medical Assistant certification from one of the following: AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA, NCCT, or NRCMA.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred, or 5 years with certification and BLS.
• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Medical Assisting with transcripts prior to start.
• Ability to work within Cerner electronic health record system.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with flu vaccination clinics or immunization programs.
• Familiarity with clinical float assignments and multi-department support.
• Comfortable with occasional extended hours (6am-6:30pm) during flu season.

Special Considerations:

• Must comply with strict Return to Office (RTO) policies: no RTO within first 4-5 weeks, maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days.
• No RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after holidays.
• Floating to other departments or clinics is mandatory as per facility needs.
• Seasonal flexibility required for hours and occasional travel to satellite clinics.
• Parking available at a daily cost with shuttle service between locations.

Scheduling:

• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 days of 8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Seasonal occasional shifts may extend from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM depending on clinic needs.
• No weekend or holiday shifts required under normal scheduling.
