Bookstore SupervisorKey Responsibilities:Acts as store manager during the absence of the store manager. Open and close the bookstore safely, including disarming and setting security alarm systems.Customer Service: Greet shoppers, answer questions, and help customers locate specific titles or sections.Cashier Duties: Handle cash management tasks, such as counting registers, balancing tills. Cash out customersMerchandising: Shelves, organize, and restock books by genre or author to keep the sales floor tidy.Backroom Support when needed: Sort incoming book donations, evaluate book conditions, and price items fairly.Monitor store cleanliness, safety standards, and visual merchandising.Communication: Friendly interpersonal skills to assist customers and work with team members.Help train new team members on store policies and register, pricing books and donations.Strong attention to detail for categorizing genres and tracking inventory accurately.Maintains regular and predictable attendance.Performs all other duties as assigned and trained.Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a passion for books, a major plus.Additional Responsibilities:CARF: Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF Standards.Safety: Maintains applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility.Outcome Driven: Uses strategic objectives to drive performance and improve Goodwill's value to the community.Stakeholder Focused: Work with integrity and provide exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.Accountability: Develop, implement, and track key metrics that drive performance taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.Financial Stability: Utilize the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.Strategic Visioning: Demonstrate commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and leading change in creating community value.Professionalism: Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals we serve.
