[WEEKEND PART-TIME HIRE｜Sushi Chef｜Osakana – Katagiri 59th St & Lexington Ave, NYC]

Osakana, a Japanese-style fresh fish market, is hiring part-time Sushi Chefs for weekend shifts at the sushi counters inside Katagiri 59th St and Katagiri Lexington Ave.

We specialize in sushi-grade fresh fish and takeout sushi, bringing authentic Japanese seafood culture to New York.

Responsibilities

Preparing and making sushi and sashimi, preparing takeout sushi, managing fresh fish (including freezing/thawing), maintaining store sanitation.

Requirements

• Available to work weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
• Experience handling fish or basic cooking experience (1+ year of kitchen/sushi experience welcome)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US (visa sponsorship is not provided)
• Food Handler certification a plus (not required)
• Part-time only
• All wages paid via direct deposit (no cash payment)
• Must be able to commute to Katagiri 59th St or Lexington Ave

Pay & Benefits

• $20–$33/hr (based on experience) plus tip 
• First One Week Training Period : $18 / hr
• Paid Sick Leave

Schedule

• Weekends: 8:00am–2:00pm (plus you can work at East Village location on weekdays if you would like) 
• Candidates able to cover both Katagiri 59th St and Lexington Ave are welcome

• Has a strong passion for Japanese food and fish
• Can work reliably on weekends
• Is punctual and responsible
